Excellent pasta dish! Their sauce tastes wonderful and is thick enough to stick to the pasta. I had the Veal Parmesan w/ spaghetti - delicious! I haven't had the pizza yet, but I'm looking forward to it. Also, I'm told that they have a lunch pizza buffet. The service was quite attentive. All around great place.

Beautiful dining experience. Absolutely fantastic pasta with a delightfully refreshing balsamic vinaigrette house dressing that paired perfectly with my sweet tea;) the cannoli was superb! Definately will be returning!

First time there… visiting and just googled Italian restaurants near me and this one came up. Did not even look at the reviews and thought we would give it a try. Though realistically not expecting much as we thoroughly enjoy Sals by Victor in Williamsburg …we voted amongst ourselves we believe this has it beat. One - lasagna was not your typical boring lasagna as it had lots of cheese and just the right amount of smooth tasty sauce. Two - the meat lovers pizza and cheese pizza had a very delicious crust, the sauce was good. It wasn’t greasy and was very pleasurable to eat. Three - the garlic knots were scrumptious. Really enjoyed interacting with the owners. Did not try the vanilla-chocolate cake though - enjoyed the fun vibes!

Sal's Italian Restaurant I ordered the sit down buffet for the variety (what a wonderful idea and little food waste) and started with the Chicken Marsala. Soft chopped chicken and mushrooms in a tasty sauce. I thought it was absolutely delicious UNTIL I had the lasagna! So heavenly! Tender noodles, beef and cheeses layered with an absolutely perfectly balanced tomato sauce...not too acidic or too sweet with perfect spices. The dish was the best lasagna I've ever had either in a restaurant or at home! The pizza was tasty, but was a simple cheese pizza with whatever topping you want on top, not under the cheese. My dining partner chose the eggplant, and deemed it delicious, but her salad had one cherry tomato, one slice of cucumber, lots of carrots, and finely chopped lettuce, so chopped it made it mushy with the dressing. How could I forget the garlic rolls. The first serving was hard and almost too tough to eat. They were graciously replaced with fresher bread, smothered in a garlic and butter sauce. Absolutely delicious! The ambience was relaxing and calm, with soft background Italian music, and pleasant Italian decor. The service was impeccable. I'd certainly return sole

The atmosphere was wonderful, it was quiet and peaceful, the staff were very friendly. The food was absolutely delicious I got the crab ravioli which was amazing the pasta was cooked just right the crab wasn’t overwhelming and the sauce was perfect. My husband got the calzone and he said it was the best calzone he had ever eaten. The is absolutely the most authentic Italian restaurant in the Roanoke area. 5/5 would recommend
